What is Naloxone?

Naloxone is a life-saving medication used to reverse opioid overdoses. It works by quickly blocking the effects of opioids and restoring breathing in someone experiencing an overdose.

Naloxone is:

Safe and easy to use
Available to the public
Able to save lives within minutes

Signs of an Opioid Overdose

Slow or stopped breathing
Blue lips or fingertips
Unconsciousness
Unable to wake up
Gurgling or choking sounds

If You Suspect an Overdose:

Call 911 immediately
Administer naloxone if available
Stay with the person until help arrives
